“We ❤️ AG” has a mission “to spread love through volunteering” and we certainly accomplished that!
Do Good Grants helped to grow this event and promote and get the word out about our group. Under Kristen Barneich’s coordination, Do Good Grants donation was used for stickers with our web address for the 2019 Harvest Festival, tees for 2nd year volunteers and hosting our website for another year.
The outreach we did at the Harvest Festival booth which Do Good Grants sponsored in September of 2018, was part of the reason our event saw the growth it did.
Our event grew from 100 to 150 volunteers and our projects grew by almost 30% from 2018 to 2019.
After a Covid interruption, the third ‘We Heart AG’ Volunteering Event, now under the leadership of Kendra Paulding, kicked off at Heritage Square Park in Arroyo Grande.
Over 100 volunteers came together to help clean and beautify 10 locations throughout the city. Group leaders met with their teams and then they were off to their locations for painting, pulling weeds, pruning, picking up trash, planting, repairing kiosks, cleaning signs and much more. We plan to repeat this event annually around Earth Day to help beautify the City of Arroyo Grande.
The Clean-Up events were: Repainting the Handball Court at Branch Street School, Planting at Rancho Grande Park, Kiwanis Park Clean-Up, Elm Street Dog Park Maintenance, East Grand Avenue Beautification, AG Creek Clean-Up, Community Garden at Elm Street Park, Weeding Trimming at Strother Park, Clean-Up at Arroyo Grande High School, Arroyo Grande Cemetery Clean-Up.
Do Good Grants made this whole event possible. With their support we were able to secure the plants, paint, rollers, advertising, and the website!
What an impact Do Good Grants has made for our whole community. Thank you!
